A Modern Campsite – More Pitches And Choice For Guests
During 2025, Flottsbro carried out a construction project to expand and modernise the campsite. The site has been upgraded with 20 new, modern pitches, which will open in summer 2026. The new pitches are suitable for both caravans and motorhomes. Other improvements include the introduction of a pitch booking system and the installation of EV chargers, meaning that guests can now choose exactly where they would like to stay on the campsite.
“It has been rewarding to help lead this project. I see it as the starting point of the journey toward a more modern campsite. With more pitches for motorhomes and caravans, new amenities, and improvements that enhance the guest experience, we hope to attract even more visitors,” says Daniel Glindre, Operations Manager at Flottsbro.
The campsite has been expanded with more pitches and greater choice for guests.
During 2025, Flottsbro carried out a construction project to expand and modernise the campsite. The work has now been completed, and the site has gained 20 new, modern pitches that are expected to open by summer 2026, once the new grass has established. The new pitches are suitable for both caravans and motorhomes, and there are now around 80 pitches in total.
As part of the modernisation, the entire campsite has been equipped with new electrical infrastructure. New power pedestals have been installed, which not only improve electrical safety but also streamline operations and reduce energy consumption. The pedestals are connected to the booking system, which shows electricity usage for each pitch and makes it possible to switch off power where it is not being used.
As part of the redevelopment, some pitches have been made larger. These will be priced slightly higher, making it possible to offer “premium pitches”. Flottsbro also plans to introduce a pitch booking system that will allow guests to choose a specific pitch online, something that has long been requested. New access roads have made previously hard-to-reach areas accessible and improved traffic flow throughout the site.

Better conditions for year-round camping
Flottsbro has created dedicated motorhome pitches with hardstanding, making them more reliable in operation from October to April. All pitches are now equipped with 16 A outlets, which is especially important for heating motorhomes and caravans during the winter. The site has also been upgraded with a fully automatic, heated waste disposal station with sensors and automatic cleaning, further improving year-round operation. The waste disposal station can also be used by external visitors.
Expanded EV charging options
There are currently twelve charging points at Flottsbro in total: eight in the external car park, which are already in use, and four newly installed within the campsite. As more and more guests travel in electric vehicles, this is a welcome addition. It also contributes to Huddinge Municipality’s sustainability goal of reducing the use of fossil fuels.
With its expanded capacity and more modern facilities, Flottsbro is ready to welcome camping guests both in summer and all year round.

Timeline and lessons learned
The project to expand the number of camping pitches began in January 2025. The mild winter brought frost and challenging ground conditions, and in parts of the area, rock blasting was required for stormwater management and drainage. Despite this, the project was completed shortly after Midsummer, with grass areas established during the autumn. The new grass pitches will be fully operational during the 2026 peak season.
